Splash it on and Step it Up with Nakano
For awhile now, I have been making much better choices but I still refuse to eat a plate of plain lettuce and call it dinner. I am also trying more and more to get better eating habits instilled in the boys. They are still little boys but I do what I can
I happy to report that I have officially lost 10 lbs! Healthier eating is playing a huge part in that. This is a hard obstacle for me since I really love food!
As I have mentioned in the past, I am a Mizkan Blogger Advocate, and in the time I have been partnering with them, I have falling in love with the line of Nakano Splash products. Because of this, I am so excited to tell you about their new summer challenge! It’s called the Nakano Splash it On, Step it Up. This new campaign is to help you move your butt a little more this summer and make healthier eating choices. I am not a big vegetable eater but they want to help me too! I would love to say that I want to make Mom proud and eat my vegetables but, it’s very difficult to me. I am an extremely picky eater. Click here to see the recipe!! »
Recipe: Jamaican Shepherd’s Pie
I don’t think there are any rules to what you can put in a Shepard’s Pie. It is another one of those versatile dishes that you can make your own. I love to make it because the kids love it, it’s hearty and well who doesn’t love mashed potatoes with all kinds of yummy goodness hiding under it? I like this one because it puts a little spin on what most people are used to when they make Shepard’s Pie. You can’t go wrong with potatoes and cheese, especially with little mouths around the house. The boys are not fans of onion but I can hide them in this. I even hide them from myself! Please tell me what you think!

Do you love cooking with wine?
If you love cooking with wine, Holland House is a great place to venture. I have been cooking with them for about two years. The selection of these products is just fantastic. If you can’t come up with something to make, just add one of these to any basic meat or pasta sauce and you are good to go! Holland House Cooking Wine and Premium Vinegars are a welcome addition to any kitchen. Whether you want to make sauces, marinades, glazes or sautés, these cooking wines are the key. They have robust aromas that enhance even the simplest of dishes. For something incredible, open a bottle of Holland House Premium Vinegar- the flavors come alive, marinades sing and salads dazzle. If you are cooking with kids in the house, the alcohol cooks out of the dishes. Just make sure you cook all of your sauces well and to a boil when possible. If you are not a wine drinker, which I am not, you might want to choose recipes that call for the smaller amounts. I made Pasta Amatriciana last year, which called for a cup of the wine, and it was to much wine flavor for me. I am not a drinker by any means. I tried the recipe at a later date with just 1/2 cup of the wine and it was much better
